Everyone loves pancakes! If you want to treat the whole family, you should check out the brunch offering at Miss Sophie. It will get your day off to a fabulous start. On the menu are American pancakes, fruit and eggs, served in every way imaginable. It’s a really nice place and the staff serve young and old alike with a smile.
Combining play and literature
Litteraturhuset
At Litteraturhuset, right next to the Royal Palace, they serve up great-tasting, healthy and hearty meals such as hamburgers, soups and pastries. There are lots of fantastic activities for children here too, including reading sessions with authors. The wonderfully decorated playroom is a great place for restless children. If you’re interested in literature, culture or politics, it’s worth knowing that Litteraturhuset offers an exciting program of debates and readings.

Crispy, with a thin base and great toppings. Family time is always fun at Villa Paradiso, because everybody loves pizza! And yes, of course you can get an antipasto or three. No wonder there’s always a large number of strollers at this restaurant in Grünerløkka.
On the quayside
Vippa
At Vippa, on the site of the former Vippetangen ferry station, you can eat tasty food from all over the world. This large hall is home to several small permanent and guest stalls selling food, drink and snacks, so there’s plenty to choose from. There’s lots of room for strollers too. Round off your international meal with something sweet and take a walk along the harbor.

If you’ve ever been to Thailand and are longing for some tom yum soup and sandy beaches, then just take the next streetcar to Yaya’s. Whatever the weather in Oslo, you’ll always find a tropical climate here, with beach chairs and the pleasant chirping of birds, because the restaurant is decked out as a Thai beach restaurant. Naturally, they also serve the kind of food you’d expect to find at a beach restaurant: Mango salad, fried rice and deep-fried scampi, not forgetting banana fritters with ice cream. So put on your sun hat and your flip-flops! PS: Children will be given a ‘Happy kids’ activity bag containing puzzles to keep them busy.

Kverneriet
The extravagant hamburger menu at Kverneriet will soon have your mouth watering. They promise truffles, cheese and umami – and they keep their word. There’s plenty of flavor packed between the bread here and an excellent range of accompaniments. They’re also well known for catering to the little ones too. Something to drink? Why not try a chocolate fudge milkshake? If that sounds a bit too calorific for your liking, there are healthier options available. Kverneriet has three restaurants: One at Henriks Ibsens gate 100 on Solli plass square, one in Tønsberg and one in Majorstuen. The whole family will have a great time here. Guaranteed.
Something for everyone
Mathallen
There are plenty of places to eat at Mathallen and you can buy from several different ones and keep everyone happy. There’s ample space for strollers and of course there are baby changing facilities. Mathallen is right next to the Akerselva river, where you can enjoy a lovely riverside walk with the stroller and your little ones before or after your meal.
