Around an hour’s drive from Dalaman is the paradise of Butterfly Valley, considered by many to be one of Turkey’s most incredible destinations. Hiking along the Lycian Way

There are plenty of mountains and beautiful hiking trails to discover around Dalaman. Considered one of the best hiking trails in the world, the Lycian Way is an extraordinary experience, with majestic views of the beaches stretching along the coast. The proximity of several towns and roads along the trail makes it easy to decide when to start and stop. If you’re a beginner, there are also several local companies that offer guided tours.

Visit the ancient city

Next to the Dalyan River, around an hour’s drive from Dalaman, is the ancient city of Kaunos, where you can soak in the city’s rich history, including ruins of theaters, temples and other public buildings. Explore the royal rock tombs above the Dalyan River and visit the ancient theater with impressive views of the city and its beautiful surroundings.

Sample Turkish specialties

Dalaman is located in the Muğla region, known for several local specialties of Turkish cuisine, such as meze (Turkish tapas) or manti (dumplings filled with vegetables or meat). One of Dalaman’s most popular restaurants is Göcek Alaturka, which serves traditional Turkish cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
