The best Hamburgers in Oslo
Incredibly tasty.
At the burger joints throughout Oslo, people in coats and ties stand side by side with hipsters, waiting for a burger, fries coated with parmesan cheese or rosemary and a flavorsome garnish. Quite simply, it has become a trend that is easy to get on board with—because it is just so incredibly tasty.
Illegally tasty
Illegal Burger
When Oslovians discuss the burger scene, you can be sure that Illegal Burger is not far from people’s thoughts. The menu features favorites such as the Cheese Royale and the Illegal Spessial – spelled with the double ‘s’ that forms part of the distinctive speech patterns that can be heard down by the Akerselva River.
Sumptuous menu
Kverneriet
The sumptuous menu at Kverneriet will quickly get your mouth watering. They promise truffles, cheese and umami—and keep their word. You get a lot of flavor packed into a bun and a delicious selection of accoutrements. Stand out features on the menu include parmesan fries, béarnaise mayonnaise and many other delicacies. Thirsty? Choose from a wide variety of beer and ales. If you’re looking for a more driving-friendly meal, try a cookie dough milkshake. Kverneriet has three restaurants: One at Henriks Ibsens gate 100 on Solli plass, one in Tønsberg and one on Majorstuen.
A dynamite combination
Døgnvill Burger
The guys at Døgnvill Burger get their meat from Jæren and their potatoes from Toten. This creates a dynamite combination in a bun. The Norwegian ingredients are mixed with chipotle, habanero, jalapeño and parmesan in generous quantities. Enjoy with either an ice cream milkshake or a freakshake! Døgnvill has two branches in Oslo, one on Vulkan and one on the fashionable Tjuvholmen.
Perfectly pink
Munchies
Munchies looks spartan, but there is nothing spartan about the burger and fries you can enjoy here. The patty is perfectly pink in the center, firm and juicy, and the accoutrements are tasty and delicious. Choose between six different burgers, including a vegan "Beyond burger" , as well as regular fries or sweet potato fries, which are sweet, salty and crispy. They also serve a small, well-chosen beer. Munchies have four branches— Grünerløkka, Frogner, Youngstorget and Munch Brygge.
First-class meat
St. Lars
Laurentius is a saint from Rome who shared the church's treasure with the poor, but here in Scandinavia he is called St. Lars and often depicted with a grill. The pious St. Lars is also the patron saint of brewers, and is perhaps the reason why the barbecue restaurant at Bislett has been named after him. At St. Lars, the fare is based around first-class meat cooked on a charcoal grill. The menu features an extravagant classic burger with bacon, cheddar cheese, brioche and rosemary fries. A good selection of beers, wine and cocktails is also available. Perhaps St. Lars would have liked to have this burger on his table?
